Argon2id turns your password into an encryption key. More memory or iterations make password guesses costlier, but also slow down creating and opening the secret. Settings are saved in this browser and included in each secret.html, so changes won't affect older secrets. More about Argon2id: OWASP and Bitwarden.
Our recommended Argon2id settings require about 8× the work per password guess of Bitwarden's defaults, measured as memory × iterations (128 MiB × 12 vs 32 MiB × 6).
This page's JavaScript and Argon2id run on one thread. Increasing parallelism won't speed things up here or increase the memory or work per guess, but can let attackers finish each guess faster across multiple cores. Keep it at 1 unless you know what you're doing.
